The ADP-Ribosylation Factor (Arf) family are members of the Ras superfamily of small GTPases. Arfs are involved in the regulation of vesicular trafficking mediating processes such as cargo-sorting, vesicle assembly and membrane fusion. (Adapted from PMID:15731001).
Notes on Group
The ARF GTPASES gene group encompasses Arf, Arl (Arf-like), Arp (Arf-related proteins) and the remotely related Sar (Secretion-associated and Ras-related) GTPases. (FBrf0229250).
