FlyBase 2.0 (FB2017_06)

With the final release of 2017, "FlyBase 2.0" becomes the main FlyBase website. This major rework of the FlyBase website comes with new features, new tools, and improved mobile device browsing and stability. The look and feel of the site has also been updated, but should still look familiar to long-time users. Here is a brief video overview of our new features.

New Hitlists

New HitLists

General searches now go to mixed data-class hitlists with lots of information and links in each hit item; lists can be filtered by data class and species. Hitlists with a single data class also have a compact tabular view. Analysis tools and list export for download, etc. are all there too.

JumpToGene / QuickSearch

Jump to Gene / QuickSearch

The main search is also now available in every FlyBase page, as a second option of the familiar "Jump to Gene" search bar in the page header.

New Reports

New Reports

FlyBase 2.0 report pages look more modern, with a fluid layout and new features like the navigation panel.

References Section

References section

The references section of all reports now offer filtering sorting, and exporting of references.

GO Ribbons

GO Summary Ribbons

New GO ribbons in gene reports give you a quick overview of a gene's annotated Gene Ontology (GO) terms.

Protein Domains

Protein Domains

Protein domain glyphs in gene and polypeptide reports highlight annotated domains and their positions.

Sequence Downloader

Sequence Downloader

This reworked tool for downloading sequence data supports a slew of new features such as regular expression pattern searches, region highlighting, and much more.

Human Disease

Human Disease

The Human Disease tab now searches across all FlyBase disease information.
