A New Gene Set Enrichment Tool for Drosophila
and Common Research Organisms.

FlyBase has been working with the Drosophila RNAi Screening Center to develop a new data analysis tool, PANGEA - PAthway, Network and Gene-set Enrichment Analysis. Users of FlyBase can directly export a list of genes from a FlyBase HitList using the option from the drop-down Export menu.

With this analysis tool, single or multiple lists of genes e.g. from high-throughput screens, can be computationally compared against various gene sets e.g. GO annotation and Reactome pathways. PANGEA incudes many gene sets not available in other enrichment tools e.g. FlyBase Gene Groups, DRSC COMPLEAT protein complexes, disease annotation from the Alliance of Genome Resources and FlyBase phenotypes. The tool has been designed to be flexible and configurable, with different gene set options, filtering and graphical outputs to allow the user to tailor the analysis to the particular use case.
